Every commercial vehicle over 10,001 lb operating in the United States, or vehicles transporting hazardous materials regardless of weight, requires, at the minimum, an annual DOT inspection. This requirement involves each segment of a combination vehicle, and the inspection is required every 12 months or 25,000 miles to stay in compliance with federal, state and local laws.
